The iTero 3D scanner
The iTero scanner is one of the most useful pieces of technology in modern dentistry, and we use it across many of our treatments. It's a small handheld wand that captures detailed 3D images of your teeth and gums in a matter of minutes - no putty, no goo, no awkward gagging.
For our patients in Bedford, the iTero changes the appointment experience in three big ways. First, it's much more comfortable than traditional impressions. Second, it's far more accurate, which means better-fitting crowns, veneers and aligners. And third, it's faster - both for the appointment itself and for the lab work that follows.

We use a trusted partner practice nearby for our CT scans, which is around a 20-minute drive from Teamcare. The scan itself takes just a few minutes, and we use the resulting 3D data to plan your treatment carefully before you ever sit in the chair.

Digital X-rays
You'll have digital X-rays as part of your routine check-up at Teamcare, alongside any other appointments where they're needed. Digital X-rays do everything traditional film X-rays did, but better.
They use significantly less radiation, which matters if you're having multiple X-rays over the course of a year. They're available on screen instantly, so your dentist can show you what they're seeing and explain any findings clearly. They produce clearer images, which means smaller issues like early decay or root infections are easier to spot. And they're more environmentally friendly - no chemicals, no waste.
Digital X-rays at Teamcare include bite wing X-rays (which we include as standard with examinations), periapical X-rays for individual teeth, and panoramic OPG X-rays for a wider view of your jaw and teeth.
Modern materials and equipment
Beyond the headline scanners and X-rays, the technology behind the scenes makes a quiet but significant difference to your care. We use modern composite materials for tooth-coloured fillings that bond directly to the tooth and last longer than older alternatives. We use LED curing lights to harden composite quickly and reliably. We use modern, comfortable dental chairs designed to keep you supported for longer appointments.
Our crowns, veneers and bridges are produced by skilled dental laboratories using modern ceramic materials that match the colour and translucency of natural teeth far better than older porcelain-on-metal options. Our orthodontic treatments use Invisalign aligners (one of the most researched aligner systems in the world) and modern fixed brace systems for cases that need more precision.
