One of the things our patients tell us they value most about Teamcare is the team. Our clinical team has worked together for over twenty years - which is unusual in modern dentistry, and something we're quietly proud of. It means you'll see the same faces visit after visit, build a real relationship with the people looking after your teeth, and never have to start over with a stranger.
Our principal dentist Jai Basudev took on Teamcare in 2009, but the practice itself has been part of Bedford since the 1920s. Together with our Treatment Coordinator Jess, our clinical team and our friendly reception team, we keep the calm, patient-first ethos that's defined the practice for generations.

Our team
Dr Jai Basudev has been a valued member of the practice for over 10 years and is known for his patient-focused, high-quality approach to dentistry. He is recognised as one of the top 1% Invisalign providers in Europe, a distinction he has achieved for the past five consecutive years, reflecting his extensive experience in clear aligner treatment.
In addition to orthodontics, Jai has placed hundreds of dental implants and remains committed to ongoing professional development in teaching others, holding a PgCert DentEd qualification. Outside the practice, he enjoys spending time with his three children and cheering on Aston Villa.
Dr Serena is a private dentist with a special interest in orthodontics and aesthetic dentistry. After completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Orthodontics, she focuses on treatments designed to enhance and transform smiles, including teeth straightening, composite bonding and veneers. Her approach combines clinical precision with a keen eye for aesthetics, helping patients achieve natural, confident results.
Alongside her clinical work, Dr Serena is passionate about education and mentors newly qualified dentists as they begin their careers. In her spare time, she enjoys running, keeping active in the gym and travelling.
Dr Pep Marin qualified from the University of Barcelona and joined Teamcare in August 2010. Since then, he has built a strong reputation for his calm, gentle approach and his commitment to ensuring patients feel fully informed and comfortable throughout their treatment. Pep is passionate about delivering high-quality dentistry and has undertaken additional training in endodontics, an area of particular professional interest.
Outside the practice, Pep is married with two children. He enjoys photography, reading, travelling and spending time with friends and family.
Steven graduated from the University of Glasgow in 1998 and joined Teamcare in August 1999. With over two decades at the practice, he is deeply committed to providing high-quality, accessible dental care and remains proud to serve as an NHS dentist. Known for his friendly and approachable manner, Steven focuses on making patients feel comfortable while delivering reliable, patient-centred treatment.
Outside the surgery, you’ll often find him listening - and occasionally singing along - to BBC Radio 2 while he works. He is also a big fan of Star Wars.
Ruhi is a caring and dedicated Dental Hygienist who is passionate about helping patients achieve healthy, confident smiles. She takes pride in providing high-quality preventive care and personalised oral hygiene advice, ensuring every patient feels comfortable and supported throughout their treatment. Known for her gentle and friendly approach, she enjoys building strong relationships with patients and helping them improve their long-term oral health. She is committed to ongoing professional development and staying up to date with the latest advances in dental care. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring new restaurants and cafés, travelling, and spending time with animals, and making the most of time with family and friends.
